The Smith and Wesson U.S. Steel Championships had an impressive turnout of top level competitors, despite a 3 gun match that was scheduled for the same weekend. The weather was clear and beautiful as the shooters put on some memorable performances. The star of the show in many spectator’s and competitor’s eyes though was Shiro Shimada. Shimada brought a very unique style to the championships and is sure to make an impact in competitive shooting for years to come. Featuring a style of draw from the holster that I will refer to as “Eagle Claw”, Shimada was entertaining as well as talented. Shiro Shimada placed 7th in the main match and 6th in the open divion.
KC Eusubio was the big winner for the day,turning in a score of 82.84 in the main match. Eusubio performed well and always looked composed. I think he has ice flowing through his veins. If you have a chance to say hello, he is a great guy to converse with. (more…)
